Amr Abozaid

Merchants Enrollment Program Director

 

Amr shares a passion for community, and he enjoys working in multiple cultural environments, well focused on elevating the people around to a better level and making them major players, and uniting voices together to create a power that can bring more benefits for every member of the community. Amr is currently working on his Master’s in International Affairs and Global Justice, believing that education is crucial to advancing abilities and skills. Working on multiple projects at YAMA, Amr supported the team and was able to build professional connections with the community and developed the structures of his projects.

Riham Al Aghbari

Women’s Program Coordinator

 

Riham is the Women’s Program Coordinator at YAMA. She recently joined the team in order to develop educational and leadership programs for women and youth. Riham is passionate about working for her community, and graduated with a degree in business administration so that she could give back to others and help them achieve their dreams.

Abeer Alomari

Intake Specialist

 

Abeer has always had a passion for helping individuals, and has found her true calling in working with YAMA as an intake specialist. She loves getting to know new people and hearing their stories. In her spare time, Abeer enjoys reading, and spending time with friends and family..

Thekra El-Rowmeim

Family and Youth Support Manager

 

Thekra is  hard working, and serious, she has a high level of organization and preparedness. She is known in the community as having the ability  to motivate and enhance peoples’ experience in various projects thus recognized for her ability to increase engagement. Volunteered and worked in many different environments both domestically and internationally . Her experience in public and community work is known within the community; she is a familiar face and looks forward to presenting her skills and abilities in whatever capacity she may be needed. After every project, she raises herself to a higher standard and reflects on what could have been done differently if not better. She entered the education field as a way to answer her calling; she always saw herself as someone who helps people by showing them how to help themselves.

Gabriel Hernandez

Community Organizer

 

Gabriel is an Advocate for social Justice and empowerment and started his involvement in non-profit work through providing direct services and running a food drive for 2 years, after converting to Islam and looking for a way to help and uplift his community. Growing his interests into advocating for fellow New Yorkers and the Muslim community as well as becoming more involved and providing services and advocacy needed for the Yemeni community.

Joel Feliciano 

Chief Operating Officer

 

 

Joel Feliciano is looking to make an impact as the oil that powers the engine of YAMA. With over 20 years of experience in organizational development, operational management, and strategic planning under his belt, Joel is equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to help YAMA reach new heights. In his most recent role, he served as the Director of Market Operations for a half a billion dollar  health care agency in Pennsylvania.Managing 15 facilities.  In this role, he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of healthcare compliance and organization growth. Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer for ORI Home Care, where he led a successful M&A. When not working tirelessly towards helping YAMA achieve its goals, Joel can be found spending time with family and friends.
