The Yemeni American Merchants Association is incredibly proud to present our Second Annual Scholarship Program. Last year, four remarkable Yemeni American students were granted this award at our Gala Event. This year, we decided to expand our program to help in order to aid both incoming and current college students. Ten eligible recipients will receive a monetary award of $1000 and an opportunity to serve the Yemeni American community through YAMA for the year. Scholarship for College Readiness Students
Eligibility to Apply:
- Must be Yemeni American
- Must be an NYC resident
- Must be a daughter or son of a Yemeni Merchant
- Must be admitted in a CUNY undergraduate school by April 2021 for Fall 2021 term and provide documentation proving your acceptance (i.e acceptance letter, etc.)
- Must attend 3+ YAMA College Readiness online webinars and invite 3+ friends to join
- Must commit to 40 hours of service at YAMA within the year of the scholarship
Scholarship for Current College Students
Eligibility to Apply:
- Must be Yemeni American
- Must be an NYC resident
- Must be a daughter or son of a Yemeni Merchant
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Must be enrolled in a CUNY undergraduate school by June 2021 and provide documentation proving your enrollment
- Refer at least 3 incoming freshmen to attend 3 or more of YAMA’s College Readiness webinars online
- Must have community service experience
- Must commit to 40 hours of service at YAMA within the year of the scholarship
